Excellent food, excellent service, great atmosphere. My wife and I came here on a cold, rainy week night some time ago and were surprised to find the place full. Even so, we were promptly offered immediate seating at the bar and proceeded to have a fantastic dining experience. The bartender was outstanding; in addition to being friendly and courteous, he made the perfect recommendations and helped us choose some delicious and unique dishes that might have otherwise been out of our comfort zone. I dont believe any of the ambiance and feel of the place was lost, even though it was a full house. It is worth noting that I found the menu to be a bit modern; dont expect to find too many of the classic Japanese dishes here. All and it was a perfect dining experience to share with my Finnish wife and one of the most memorable from our 6 week roadtrip across the U.S.
It was my second time at Kawa Ni. The memory of the flavors was still lingering in my mind and I was in the mood for something delicious and exotic. My son and I went there and had to sit on the bar, because the place was full. We ordered some Shaved Broccoli and some Pork Dumplings for appetizers and I ordered a nice cup of Suntory Hibiki Whisky. For dinner we ordered the absolutely scrumptious Karaage don. Please order that, you can thank me later!!

A terrific take on Japanese bar food! Always new things to try! The summer balcony adds another dimension although the food is served on paper plates on the balcony; but it is just as good! Great craft cocktails! The menu is always updated with new items to tantalize your taste buds - never boring! Don't miss out on the shaved broccoli! A must try if you are in Westport!
