Iconic views of the Sound.... Wonderful setting and right off 95 easy in and out. Parking for 5,000. Wide beaches and good facilities.
It's a wonderful place to go if you love the beach and want to get away from society and the hustle and bustle of city life. There's a learning center where you can take the children or yourself to learn about the native sea life as well as wildlife, I learned a few things I didn't know! The staff is very knowledgeable. The park itself is open year round and cost $22.00 for non-residents and like $13.00 if you live in CT. Again, I love it, it reminds me of when I lived in Florida, or makes you feel as though you're on vacation!
Plenty of parking space. Even if crowded people do not bump into each other and entry of green space. Being from outside Conneticut, parking it's pricey $22 to $25 dollars depending on day of the week (weekdays or weekends). Great place to enjoy the day. Tables and some grills are available in the park grounds. For me...Always a great family experience. I always visit every summer. Don't forget to wear water-shoes because the shore has plenty of small rocks and broken sea shells.
This is a great beach - -good for families and good for just sitting on the beach to read. Because many can't get into the nearby Westport's Compo Beach - this is a great choice for family, groups and celebration groups to have a picnic. The views are lovely -there is parking for 5000 - it does cost about 15 dollars to park per car from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Walks and paths are great - - there are restrooms during the summer beach season
Great location for a long walk by the beach. I prefer going when its not the "summer season" from memorial day to labor day. No crowds plus no charge to enter the park.plenty of parking and public restrooms are available.The Connecticut September 11th memorial is also here and its situated on a nice elevated spot overlooking long island sound.
